Proxies for Telegram
Telegram speaks MTProto, and that is the only proxy type its own settings accept. Point the client at an MTProto server and it routes through that server instead of connecting to Telegram directly.
What It Solves
- A blocked route: where the direct connection fails, the proxy carries it.
- Your address: Telegram sees the proxy address rather than your own.
- Several accounts: give each one its own proxy so they do not share an address.
- Media at full speed: photos, video and voice messages pass through without a separate queue.
Setting It Up
- Desktop: Settings, then Advanced, then Connection type, then Use custom proxy, then MTProto.
- iOS and Android: Settings, then Data and Storage, then Proxy, then Add proxy, then MTProto.
- Paste the server, port and secret exactly as they arrive in your dashboard.
Before You Order
An MTProto proxy carries Telegram traffic and nothing else. For a browser or any other application, take an HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy instead.
The order form is at the top of this page. Support answers around the clock.
